AMS/Cargo Query

ACE/ACS Cargo Manifest Query — research upstream bill/manifest data to troubleshoot in‑bond issues

Purpose

AMS/Cargo Query (ABI.CQ) allows you to query ACE/ACS cargo manifest records by carrier SCAC + transaction number or by house air waybill. Use it to verify master/house bill data, carrier identifiers, ports, and related entry linkages when investigating rejects or status questions on in‑bonds.

Tip: Run this query when the ABI response indicates a bill/manifest mismatch (e.g., invalid voyage/flight, wrong bill number, or missing linkages).

FieldDescriptionNotes
Query Type Choose one of the codes below (F, E, B, A, H, I) to determine how the system will search ACE/AMS. See Query Type Codes for exact meanings and requirements.
1. SCAC Code 4‑letter carrier code of the manifest issuer. Required when querying by Master Bill / Transaction No.
2. Transaction No. Master Bill / MBL / MAWB number (depending on mode). Use the exact number transmitted to ACE/AMS.
3. Hawb Number House air waybill (HAWB) / House bill number. Use when querying the house level rather than the master.
4. Current/Change? Request current record or a change history view. Choose Current for latest status; Change to include updates (if supported by the port/mode).
5. Related BOL Ind. Include related bills (e.g., show house under master, related consolidations). Set to Yes to expand results when investigating linkages.
6. Request BL & Entry Also return any linked Entry/Release information along with bill data. Helpful to see if an Entry TCN/number is linked to the bill.
7. Response Limit Maximum number of records to return. Use to avoid very large replies; increase only when needed.
8. Department Code Restrict the query context to a specific department. Defaults from user profile; change only if authorized.
