Warehouse Withdrawal
CBP Entry Type 31 Processing from Bonded Warehouse Inventory

Warehouse Withdrawal Overview

The Warehouse Withdrawal module allows users to process withdrawals from bonded warehouse inventory and transmit CBP Entry Type 31 (Consumption Entry from Warehouse).

Inventory becomes available for withdrawal when a Customs Entry Types 20, 21, 22, 24, 25 or 26 (Warehouse Entry) is filed through the Customs Brokerage module, the system places the merchandise into the Warehouse Inventory file.

Users can then selectively withdraw quantities, generate entry summaries, calculate duties, create an In-bond and transmit to CBP.

  • Withdraw full or partial quantities from warehouse inventory
  • Generate CBP Entry Summary (7501) or In-Bond (7512)
  • Track remaining quantities on hand
  • Integrate with billing and accounting modules
Key Concept:
Warehouse Withdrawal is a continuation of the Customs Entry lifecycle. Types 20-26 creates inventory → Type 31 removes inventory.

Process Flow

  1. Create Customs Entry

Learning Flow / Recommended Reading Order

New users should learn Warehouse Withdrawal in the same order that the work normally moves through FasTrax: first understand how warehouse inventory is created, then learn how to select inventory for withdrawal, complete the Entry Summary, review classification, transmit to CBP, and finish with billing and reporting.

  1. Start with Customs Entry Type 21.
Review how the original Warehouse Entry is created in the Customs Brokerage module. This entry is what places merchandise into the Warehouse Inventory file. See the Customs Brokerage Open a File manual for details on creating a Warehouse Entry.
  2. Review the Warehouse Withdrawal Main Menu.
Learn where the withdrawal, print, billing, inquiry, and reporting options are located.

Open Warehouse Withdrawal Menu manual →

  3. Create or edit a Warehouse Withdrawal.
Use the Warehouse Withdrawal screen to begin a new withdrawal or edit a prior withdrawal. The user may search by file number, entry number, importer number, or importer/part number.

Open Warehouse Withdrawal screen manual →

  4. Select the inventory lines to withdraw.
Review the original warehouse entry lines, confirm available quantity on hand, and select the specific items and quantities being withdrawn.
  5. Complete the Entry Summary Withdrawal.
Enter the withdrawal date, withdrawal code, quantity, unit, importer, consignee, payment type, and related summary information for the Type 31 withdrawal.
  6. Review invoice classification and line detail.
Confirm HTS numbers, country of origin, value, duty rate, duty amount, gross weight, and any proratable or non-proratable charges before transmission.
  7. Transmit and print required documents.
Use the appropriate ABI/ACE and print options to transmit the Entry Summary and produce supporting forms, including 7501 and duty payment documents where applicable.
  8. Complete billing and accounting follow-up.
Use Operations Billing to bill the customer, AP Check Request for related disbursements when needed, and AR Void Billing only when correcting previously generated billing.
  9. Use inquiries and reports for reconciliation.
Review Items on Hand, File History Log, and Customer Statistics to confirm inventory movement and support audit or customer service questions.
